Girls Winter Sing

The two older girls had their winter sing this past week. Here are some photos and video.

Went to D's work holiday party at the Sheraton.
The girls loved the Christmas town with its two trains and ginger bread houses.

The girls got to participate in a Build a Bear event where they chose from various bears and outfits. They got to donate them to the Police and Fire Departments who will give them to children who dont have a Christmas.
They got to meet some ofthe characters and got to take one home with them.

Fall Festival

We had the Fall Festival at the girls' school. They got to ride horses, play on the bouncers, and eat snow cones! It was a fun day!

Zoo

Aunt N. took us to the zoo a couple of weeks ago to see the new Koala Bears. They sleep 18-22 hours a day, so there wasn't much to see but a gray puff ball. BUT they were still adorable and looked soooo cute.

Neighborhood Carnival

They also HAD to do the rock wall. Even Ella...because anything sisters can do, she can do!!!!

Neigborhood Carnival

The neighborhood carnival was last night. The girls had a fun time. They insisted upon doing the petting zoo, even though I told them that they get to do that everytime they go to grandpa's house. But they thought that was the neatest thing to do. They also really enjoyed the bouncer things....static hair!!!

Ella's Bike Riding

Ella is learning to ride a bike. Scary, isn't it? She is doing really well. She falls down, cries like she's dying and picks the bike up and goes again.

Happy Birthday Dave!

Dave's birthday was Monday. Grandpa H. bought foam airplanes and everyone got together at the park to fly them. We had a picnic and a beautiful cake made by Aunt D. It was a lot of fun.

New Windows

I got new windows! Yeah! I hope it helps with my power bill. Dad came down and he, dave and jared had the windows in in 2 days, plus 2 new doors. The third day was spent caulking and putting molding back on. I think they look great!

Storm Part 2

Our neighbor's tree lost some branches during the storm. It blocked the roadway and almost hit a truck that was parked on the side of the road. The whole neighborhood came out and had it all cleaned up within a couple of hours. The kids thought it was great fun!

Storm

It has been a while since I've updated the blog. Sorry. I'll try to catch up today.

We had a really bad storm last week. Ella and I were out on the patio enjoying the cooler air. The wind just got worse and worse, and we had to run into the house. I had never seen hail this big. It was the size of a jack ball. It was really loud! It covered all the grass and made several big piles in different places. We went out wading in the ICE water, and it was really COLD.

What do you think?

Well, it's done. And it's a good thing. I don't think I could handle anymore mess. What do you think of the color? It' a lot lighter in the room without the wood paneling. Dave did a great job!!!

Saturday

We were working on projects around the house of Saturday. D put up a new shelf up in the pantry which gave us a little more room and we are now able to actually walk in and find what we need. I had been wanting him to check to see what had to be done in order to get rid of the wood paneling, and Saturday he finally got around to it. Once he realized that the drywall was already there, it didn't take him long to have it down. Now the question is.....what color to paint????

First Day of School

It's time to get back to school! I had been feeling a little teary about the whole situation, but we were late enough the first day, that I didn't have time to get emotional. Luckily, everyone got to class before the tardy bell...and I didn't get in an accident (it was a MAD house). The girls met their teachers on Tuesday. Both teacher seem really nice, and MJ and NM were excited to be in their classes. They rode the bus home and were SUPER hot and sweaty by the time they got off, but thought it was a great adventure. MN has done ok without them so far, but around lunch time, she starts asking if it's time to go get them.
